Inline return attenuators are used when extra attenuation is needed only the return path. The forward path will only be attenuated by < 1.0 dB. With F-female / F-male connectors, the attenuators can be mounted directly on an F-connector without the need of adapters. The return attenuators can be used for example to reduce ingress problems.
